Hal is the founder and Managing Partner at Klickitat Fund. Previously, he was CEO at Empire Packaging & Displays before selling it to Smurfit-Kappa in 2016. Since the exit, Hal has focused his time on investing and advising entrepreneurs and CEO's achieve excellent results.

Hal serves on the Board of Directors for eCard Systems, Northwest Analytics, Avon Growth and Portland Cider.

Hal was born in Washington and is a Westerner through and through. He majored in Forestry (BS '80) at the University of Washington, and got an MBA in 1986 from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
